Hot Rod Hemi

True Muscle Car Power At Its Finest

There’s nothing like gut wrenching pure unadulterated horse power. The engine that comes to my mind when you talk about pure horse power is the 426 Hemi. Produced with heads, that had hemispherical combustion chambers and a set of valves sitting at a 58-degree angle, on top of the combustion chambers. This engine allowed a Hot Rodder more airflow and bigger valves. The results were mega power output! The Hemi was a sign of the times.

Hot Rod Hemi

Hot Rod Hemi

Produced and manufactured in the late 1940s. The Hemi Motor was brought onto the scene by Chrysler. Premiering the 331 cubic inch engine and promising an unheard of guaranty that said in short. “You would get 100,000 miles out of the engine without replacing anything major”. This statement was a true fact! Not only did the engine do what was promised, it outperformed just about anything out there as far as a serious Hot Rod would go. In the 60s, 70s the Hemi proved itself to be the real muscle of choice. And was the solution to out running the competition when building any type of Hot Rod. The Cuda, Challenger and Charger were all coming out with the Hemi as the primary Motor that could put you into the seat of a Hot Rod.

The 426 Hemi is my choice for a real ground pounding machine. I have laid some rubber down with one of these monsters. Nothing compares! The new modern Chrysler cars are keeping the legend alive. The Hemi Motors coming in these next generation models compare favorably to their predecessors. Test driving the new Charger is almost like going back to the day when we all lived the dream. These factory Hot Rods are a dream come true. Going zero to 60 in a nasty 12 seconds says it all. The Hemi has “got it going on”. When searching for parts to keep these monsters alive the Hot Rodder has a pretty good supply of parts to choose from. If you’re looking for parts E-Bay is my choice. There are some serious savings to be had on this auction site.
